It was a tough day at the Cornerstone Community Center for the Saint Norbert College Green Knights, who suffered a devastating 9-0 loss to the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs on January 31, 2026.
The Bulldogs dominated the game from start to finish, registering a total of 43 shots on goal compared to the Green Knights’ 30. Bulldogs’ netminder, Trygvee Lavallie, was impeccable between the pipes, turning away all 30 shots he faced. On the other hand, the Green Knights’ goaltender, Patrick Boyle, had a challenging day, managing to save only 16 of the 43 shots he faced.
The Bulldogs’ powerplay was effective, converting 2 out of their 10 opportunities, while the Green Knights struggled with their man advantage, failing to capitalize on any of their seven powerplay chances.
Bulldogs’ Connor Cote was a standout player in the game, scoring two goals. Meanwhile, the Green Knights’ Sean Yurkov spent a significant amount of time in the penalty box, racking up a total of 16 penalty minutes.
Despite the loss, the Green Knights will have to quickly regroup and refocus as they prepare for their next game. They will be on the road, facing off against Northern Illinois University at the Fox Valley Ice Arena (IL) on Friday, September 11, at 12:01 am CDT.
