Blue Demons Fall Short Against Illini in a 4-2 Loss

In a hard-fought battle at the University of Illinois Ice Arena, the DePaul University Blue Demons were unable to secure a victory against the University of Illinois Illini, falling short with a final score of 2-4 on January 31, 2026.

The Blue Demons put up a valiant fight, with 24 shots on goal compared to the Illini’s 46. Despite being outshot nearly 2 to 1, the Blue Demons managed to keep the game competitive, showcasing their tenacity and determination.

The Blue Demons’ power play was a bright spot in the game, converting 2 of their 9 opportunities. The Illini, on the other hand, managed to convert only 1 of their 10 power play opportunities, a testament to the Blue Demons’ strong penalty killing unit.
