In a challenging face-off at the Fox Valley Ice Arena, the Saint Norbert College Green Knights fell to the Northern Illinois University Huskies in a 6-2 defeat on September 11th, 2026.
Despite their best efforts and a commendable 40 shots on goal, the Green Knights couldn’t quite match the Huskies’ relentless offense, who managed an impressive 55 shots. The Knights’ powerplay was 1/8, falling short against the Huskies’ more successful 2/5 powerplay.
Green Knights’ goalie, Anders Smith, demonstrated his prowess in the net with 49 saves out of 55 shots, but it wasn’t enough to stave off the Huskies’ onslaught. On the other side of the ice, the Huskies’ Matthew Jurgens also put on a strong performance, saving 38 out of 40 shots.
