In a nail-biting game at the Cornerstone Community Center, the Saint Norbert College Green Knights managed to secure a thrilling 6-5 victory over the Milwaukee School of Engineering Raiders in overtime.
The Green Knights dominated the game with an impressive 44 shots on goal compared to the Raiders’ 33. Despite the high number of shots, both teams struggled on the powerplay with the Raiders going 0 for 5 and the Green Knights slightly better at 0 for 4.
The goaltenders for both teams had a busy night. Raiders’ Cody Kaas faced a barrage of 44 shots, making 38 saves. Meanwhile, the Green Knights’ Anders Smith was tested with 33 shots, managing to save 28.
The star of the game was undoubtedly Jake Kunz of the Green Knights who scored two crucial goals. On the Raiders’ side, Joseph Grobarek also netted twice but his efforts were not enough to secure a win for his team.
This victory gives the Green Knights a much-needed boost as they prepare for their next game. They will be facing off against Michigan Technological University on Friday, January 23rd at Dee Stadium. Despite the victory, the Green Knights will need to work on their powerplay performance if they hope to continue their winning streak.
