Falcons Fall Short Against the Cougars in a 5-2 Loss

The Concordia University of Wisconsin Falcons faced a tough challenge on the ice against the Sault College Cougars, ultimately falling short in a 5-2 defeat. The game was held on October 18, 2026, at the Northern Community Centre.

The Falcons, despite their best efforts, were outshot by the Cougars 33-20. Their powerplay also struggled, only capitalizing on one of their twelve opportunities. The Cougars, on the other hand, made the most of their chances, scoring on two of their six powerplays.

Falcons’ goalie, Austin Bartell, faced a barrage of shots from the Cougars, making 28 saves on 33 shots. On the other end of the ice, Cougars’ goalie Keenan Marks turned away 18 of the 20 shots he faced.

Despite the loss, there were some bright spots for the Falcons. Dylan Pomillo managed to find the back of the net twice, providing both goals for his team. However, the Cougars’ Ethan Novello was the standout player of the match, contributing three assists to his team’s victory.

The Falcons will look to bounce back from this defeat in their next game. They will face off against Lewis University at home on Sunday, October 18, at 3:00 pm CDT at the Kern Center. Fans will be hoping for a stronger performance from the team in this upcoming match.
