Eagles Overpower Raiders in 6-3 Victory at Kern Center

In a high-octane encounter at the Kern Center on Sunday, the Eastern Washington University Eagles soared past the Milwaukee School of Engineering Raiders with a commanding 6-3 win. Despite a valiant effort by the Raiders, the Eagles’ offensive onslaught proved too much to handle.

The Eagles launched an impressive 64 shots at the Raiders’ net, compared to the Raiders’ 41. This relentless offensive pressure was a key factor in the Eagles’ victory, as they kept the Raiders on the back foot throughout the game.

The Eagles’ powerplay was effective, with 2 goals from 8 opportunities, while the Raiders struggled to capitalize on their chances, failing to score on any of their 7 powerplays.

In the net, the Eagles’ Nicholas Kaufman put up a solid performance, saving 38 of the 41 shots he faced. On the other hand, the Raiders’ Matthew Nelson had a challenging night, managing to save 58 of the 64 shots hurled at him.

On the scoring front, Jared Jelinek of the Eagles and Maddux Kadera of the Raiders both stood out with two goals each. Jelinek’s performance was particularly noteworthy, providing a significant boost to the Eagles’ attack.

Despite the loss, the Raiders showed promise with their offensive play and will be looking to bounce back in their next game. They will be hitting the road to face the University of Nebraska on Saturday, September 19, at 12:00 pm CDT at The Ice Box. The team will undoubtedly be working hard in the coming week to improve their defensive play and powerplay conversion rate.
