In a high-intensity game at the Hanna Agri-Sports Complex, the Hanna Havoc fell to the Southern Alberta Mustangs with a final score of 4-2. Despite the home team’s best efforts, the Mustangs managed to outshoot the Havoc 36-26, demonstrating a strong offensive game.
The Havoc’s goaltender, Madden Besplug, faced a barrage of shots, making 31 saves out of 36 attempts. His counterpart on the Mustangs, Sawyer Mitchell, had a slightly easier night, facing 26 shots and making 24 saves.
Powerplay opportunities were plentiful for both teams, with the Mustangs going 0 for 8 and the Havoc going 0 for 6. Unfortunately, neither team was able to capitalize on these chances, showing the strength of both teams’ penalty kill units.
The star of the game was undoubtedly Mustangs’ forward #24, Austin Stewardson, who netted an impressive hat trick. On the Havoc side, #13 Kaleb Owens put up a strong fight, scoring both of the team’s goals.
Despite the loss, the Havoc will not have much time to dwell on it. They will be back in action at the Hanna Agri-Sports Complex on Saturday, March 14 at 8:00 pm, where they will face off against Calgary. The team will be looking to bounce back and secure a win in front of their home crowd.
