The Saint Norbert College Green Knights exhibited a stellar performance at the Cornerstone Community Center on October 9th, 2026, securing a 2-0 victory over the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Panthers.
Dominating the ice, the Green Knights outshot the Panthers 39-19, maintaining a consistent pressure on the Panthers’ defense throughout the game. Despite the Panthers’ six powerplay opportunities, the Green Knights’ defense remained impenetrable, with goalie Anders Smith making a total of 19 saves to secure his shutout.
The Green Knights’ offensive force was led by Jake Kunz, who netted one of the two goals of the game. The Panthers’ goalie, Samuel Siepert, put up a commendable fight, making 37 saves out of the 39 shots he faced.
However, the Panthers’ offense fell short, failing to capitalize on their six powerplay opportunities. Their struggle was further exacerbated by Sawyer Gventher’s two penalty minutes, which left them a man down and unable to break through the Green Knights’ solid defense.
The Green Knights’ powerplay unit also had its share of missed opportunities, going 0/5. However, their superior shot count and solid defense were enough to secure the victory.
The Green Knights will look to continue their winning streak as they take on Marian University at home on Saturday, October 10th at 3:30 pm CDT at Johnny’s Ice House West. Fans and supporters will surely be looking forward to another thrilling game.
