Raiders Fall Short in Close Battle with Huskies

In a tightly contested match-up, the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) Raiders fell to the Michigan Technological University Huskies 3-2 at the HOCO Arena on October 11, 2026. Despite a valiant effort, the Raiders couldn’t quite match the offensive firepower of the Huskies.

The Huskies controlled much of the game, doubling the Raiders in shots on goal with a total of 44 to the Raiders’ 22. However, the Raiders’ goalie, Michael Poulik, put on an impressive display, saving 41 of the 44 shots he faced. On the other end of the ice, Huskies’ goalie Finn Kelly also had a strong game, saving 20 of the 22 shots he faced.

The powerplay units for both teams struggled during the game. The Raiders were unable to capitalize on any of their four powerplay opportunities, while the Huskies also failed to convert on their two chances.

Despite the loss, there were bright spots for the Raiders. Joseph Grobarek had an impressive performance, contributing two assists. However, the Huskies’ Jacob Raisanen stood out as the game’s top performer, scoring the decisive goal.

The Raiders will look to bounce back in their next game, an away match-up against Sault College on Friday, October 16 at 7:00 pm CDT at the Blue Line Family Ice Center. The Raiders will be hoping for a better result as they continue their quest for victory in the new season.
